The little director.

Livestream, the company whose technology allows you to watch your favorite sports online, was making its first foray into consumer products. They created a small but powerful video camera that anyone can control and edit in real time using a handy mobile app. With full wireless capability, Mevo can also webcast simultaneously (hello Facebook Live).

This was a significant risk for Livestream; not only because of its lack of consumer product experience, but also because the video camera market is already as crowded as a Turkish bazaar. As lead writer for the Mevo website—in collaboration with strategists at design firm Character—I helped translate a unique brand position (the live event camera) into quick and engaging copy meant to capture the attention of budget-conscious, yet ambitious content creators.

Mevo’s debut at CES 2016 sent tech and consumer bloggers running for their keyboards. Favorable press from Engadget, AdWeek, Forbes and The Verge followed quickly.
